Sarah grew up on the west coast of British Columbia and was very fortunate to be able to take advantage of all of the wildness this part of the world has to offer! From early days exploring the Gulf Islands on her family sailboat, to her teens, taking part in a special education program that enabled her to experience everything from igloo building to paddling with porpoises, Sarah developed a deep love for wild spaces. In her early 20s she moved to England and soon after qualified as a primary school teacher. Not long after becoming a mother, she realised that mainstream education was not for her and it was around about the same time she met Sophie Christophy and together, they began to make plans! In 2018, Sophie and Sarah co-founded The Cabin, a self-directed and consent based learning community for home educated children. Sarah is very excited to dust off her hiking boots and get stuck in with the Rewilding Education crew!
