Sophie Christophy

My name is Sophie. I'm an education innovator and the co-founder of two consent-based, self-directed learning communities for young people aged 5-13, called the Cabin and the Lodge, as well as a Director at the Centre of Consent-Based Education, which offers training and development in consent-based and self-directed education practices.

My work is centred on the transformational process of understanding and integrating consent-based and self-directed ways of being, living and learning. This includes working with people who want to live more consent-based lives themselves, and who want to bring that culture to their relationships, families and work environments. This includes, workshops, 1:1 sessions and consultancy, healing work, and retreats.

I tend to work with folks who have already walked out of, or are considering walking out of mainstream ways of doing things, and are making their way to a 'new paradigm' based on principles of integrity, alignment, authenticity, personal power and responsibility, and consent-based, ethical relating and organising.

I support other founders and facilitators of consent-based and self-directed learning communities with troubleshooting, refining, and developing their practices, and with people in more mainstream environments to identify and maximise opportunities to 'do things differently' in those places, and how to bring in consent-based, self-directed practices.

Being in nature, feeling nature connected and part of a wider ecosystem, and 'rewilding ourselves' - coming back to ourselves and our true nature is crucial for this work. Part of moving from the patriarchal. power-over culture to consent-based ways requires us to be connected to our own nature and to know ourselves, and to navigate life from that place, and to understand ourselves as part of a wide ecosystem of nature that has the potential to function in a regenerative, restorative, and sustainable way.
